Hello all!

I am also planning to move to Canada in next few years. I read some articles about salary gap between new immigrants and native born Canadians.

So my question is anybody have some experience about this topic? Is it true? I found on some web site that this gap is about 60% for educated men with university degree.
I am mechanical engineer and I work in one very well reputed German automotive company so if someone here is mechanical engineer new immigrant in Canada, is welcomed here to give his thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

I did not experience any salary gap, more the opposite. Due to my international experiences I get paid more than my Canadian counterpart. Having said that, I do not come from a third world country. I am a white European.. That might be a reason, too.

Salary wise not much difference. Until we register with local professional engineers association, we may not get good jobs? Minimum one year Canadian experience required for registration.
