HY GUYS,

I'd like to discuss about the new FSWP that start in May. Actually I am waiting for the ILETS result and the new announcement. Does anyone start already gathering the documents? Please i really appreciate any comment. We are concerned about this cause we don't want to waste time and money on preparing documents that maybe aren't neccessary. Any opinion is helpful for m.

Thanks,

Look at the documents checklist in the following link and prepare accordingly.

But remember this not an updated list, so there will be more documents required for May FSW. Also, follow this thread for discussions regarding the new FSW.

i had a question!
if i do not qualify through the self assessment because of age factor can i still mail my documents?
For instance i am getting 66 instead of 67; please advice if i should prepare my documents; I am a dentist practicing since 30 years and if my catagory is announced in FSW should i apply anyways??

If you are not able to get 67 points then your application will not be accepted.

Sir

You need to score 67 , that is simple - No complications

In the "good old days" applications were assessed on their merits and it was possible for an application to be accepted if it was one or two points below the threshold, because the visa officers used discretion in determining the economic viability of the applicant/s. I've heard cases in days of olde of people being accepted on 65 points where the threshold is 67.

But alas those days are firmly behind us. Visa officers now have a strict operations manual to work through to determine eligibility and there is not as much room for discretion as there used to be.

66 points now pretty much means a guaranteed fail. I'd advise anyone unable to get 67 points not to waste their time and money.

Better to spend their efforts finding ways to improve their score. Perhaps if English will be their first language in Canada, they can spend some time learning some basic French in order to secure the extra few points they need.

Please note that despite earlier tweets to the contrary, it seems there will be a priority occupation list after all.

With one month to go until the doors are supposedly opening for FSWP, this list has still not been announced:
https://twitter.com/CitImmCanada, 6 hours ago:
"Information on the new federal skilled workers program has not yet been released. Details will follow"

I hope CIC announce something soon so that prospective applicants have more clarity.

Wayne.
