I came to canada at the start of 2013 i was given a 2 year permit with the company name on and a positve lmo .
I returned to the uk and stopped working for the company .
I have received a job offer for the same kind of work . I have 2 months until the permit runs out .
I would like to know what to do next . Do ineed a new lmo ? Can i extend the permit with the new company ? Is there cost involved ? Do i arrange all of this or the employer ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated ..thank you

Your new company needs to obtain a new LMO (now called an LMIA). You cannot use your old work permit to work for the new company - you need a new work permit. Once your new company obtains a new LMIA, you will then be able to obtain a new work permit.

Note that to obtain an approved LMIA, your new employer will have to meet the 1 month advertising requirement and also pay a $1,000 processing fee. Expect the LMIA processing time to be 2-4 months. Your new emplyer is the one who has to obtain a new LMIA.

You are the one who will obtain the new work permit.
