Hi,
My Dutch police report from 24 June 2014 has expired and the CIC have requested a new one, with translation and certification which I provided before.
Previously I didn't get the documents legalized or apostiled in the Netherlands but I've just seen this:
- it won't let me post the link -
Dutch documents for use in Canada
Birth, death and marriage certificates and other documents issued by Dutch City registrations (gemeentehuis), should first be legalized by the “CDC Legalization Desk” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands, indicating the document needs to be used in Canada and then by the Canadian Embassy in The Hague.
Requesting a legalization
Step 1:
In person:
Personally submit the document to the “CDC Legalization Desk”. This can be done by a family member or friend.
By mail:
You can also submit your document by post. Document(s) requiring legalization, and your written request, should be sent to:
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
DCM/SO-CDC - legalizations
Postbus 20061
2500 EB Den Haag
Netherlands
Step 2: legalization by the Canadian Embassy
Once you received the Legalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hague please submit the document for a legalization to the Canadian Consulate in The Hague.
The request from CIC never mentioned this only that it has expired and they required updated docs.
Anyone had experience with this?
Thanks.
