Hi All,

This is an amazing and informative group. It's very helpful to read about your experiences. Here is my scenario:

I applied for my wife on apr 4 and she got ppr today

Applied - Apr 4, 2014 (with medicals and pcc)
Sponsor approved and file transferred to Delhi - mid June
Got IP- sep 30
Ppr and DM - oct -13

So it seems all done in abt 7 months (great compared to the 13 month avg timeline they provide)

Can someone share how much time you get to come here ? My wife's medicals expire mid jan 2015.

I know this timelie is not an issue for most lol. My wife's sibling is getting married in Dec and just hoping she gets time until then. So we are thinking of sending passport after 2 or 3 weeks if it helps. (We have 30days as pe letter)

Also they have asked in letter abt psprt number height eye color etc for spouse as well. But Since I am sponsor does anyone know if they need my details ?

One word of encouragement for anyone who is applying and going thru employmet issues. I got laid off 2 days before I applied (can u believe it ?) with gods grace still all went well . Was pretty nervous abt it.

Hi mehtapr... congratulations...

delaying sending your PP wont change the validity of visa.. You have received a PPR because they already have the visa ready for you and all that is needed is for it to be stuck to your PP... in fact, if you send your PP immediately, you will know till when your visa is valid and if, worst case scenario, its before your wife's sibling's wedding, you can plan ahead and probably look into options for extending the date or come back for the wedding... but atleast you wont be in the dark and assuming/guessing timelines..

And yes, you have to include your details as her spouse in the PPR section 5...

i need to know 1 thing about pcc......nvodo ask me for pcc from other countries other than india IN AR email....i got the pcc but not sure about sending it now or later when they ask me again.... :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

....because i read somewhere that it happened when someone send the pcc before ip status it misplaced......and they ask again for pcc by email....... :'( ......

so i am little afraid.....Should i send it now before few months early or should i wait for IP STATUS.....PLEASE GUIDE ME

Yes I agree it makes sense to send passport right away so we can plan accordingly. I was just hoping it could buy us couple of weeks . From what I hear, they usually stamp till expiration of medical report (if feasible). Is this the case with most?
In my case the meds expire jan 2015 and would work out perfectly.

Hi karanjeet,

There is a higher chance of your status not changing to IP if you dont send PCC.. Keep a scanned copy of PCC with you for your reference.. also, if you are sending it via courier, keep a screenshot of the tracking details once NDVO has received it (Do not forget to include you UCI code & File # on the cover of the mail and also include a covering letter with the PCC stating what that document is and attach the letter asking for it) ...

In addition to this, to make sure there is no misplacement, go to the link provided in the AOR e-mail (https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=new%20delhi), fill your details and upload the scanned photo of the PCC...

I had sent my original RPRF receipt and i have not yet received any acknowledgement.. but i got ppr well within timelines...

Hope thats helpful... Although, if you are very sure that they might screw up, the decision is all yours..

On the ecas website, if I hit the option "Please remove the ability for me or anyone else to view the status of my application and address information on this Web site.", will that completely disable my ability to sign in or does that mean that they wont update on the status on website from whatever the current status is?

I guess u will get time visa in 7 days after passport submission and ur visa will have expiry till medical expires..

in tht case, u wont get ecas updates, alternatively either email or letter by courier on final decision. (passport request / interview)
