Yes mine is a too optimistic timeline.. 13 months is the official tag. people with straight forward case are getting in 9 month timeline... and the process i hope would get quicker from here - if they manage to clear out the backlog. In 2012 and early 2013 the timeline was more like 6-7 months - few got it earlier too. hence there are lot of if and buts.

I wouldnt call your timeline a pessimistic one....it is more conservative one. if one gets the visa before that he gets to be happy. sometimes the law of averages catchup.

I'd say that is more than an optimistic time line. I will still stick to my timeline of April-May 2015, meaning application goes to "In Process" in March 2015. If everything is good "DM" by April, if medicals expire before April then May 2015.

My pessimistic 5 cents.

I agree with you 100%. "In Process" doesnt mean "diddly squat" unless the huge IP que get DM and DM translates to visa on hand. Currently a huge line in IP and many aug-sept-nov applicants waiting.

But earlier it was a huge que in AR stage. which is clearing slowly.

In Process doesn't mean anything more than "In Process", very few Nov 2013-Dec 2013 applicants have got a DM status, a lot of people have been "In Process" for over 1-2 months, e.g: rksandhu (expired medicals.. etc). The day when more than 80-90% of 2013 applicants have got DM (the rest 10-20% would fall under case complications,interviews etc), is when 2014 should expect a move in the applications, as of now, I'd say September is when Jan 2014 applicants can start expecting "In Process" and again that doesn't mean anything more than "In Process".

CIC is doing a good job at botching processing time trends, noting the fact that they haven't updated their quarterly processing time updates since March of this year, we are almost into the last quarter of 2014 and just the first quarter update (March 10th 2014)? I smell high school graduates trying to use their high school IQ here (by updating a lot of Nov-Dec applicants statuses into "In Process", without actually making decision on lot of October 2013 applicants). You are only as smart as you are.

i don't claim to be an expert into the inner workings of CHC NEW DELHI, but the trend i gathered is this,,
for jul, aug, sept 2013 applicants, NDVO asked for a PPR usually 2 -3 moths after SA... and their applications took for ever to go from AR-IP-DM.... these applications were processed most inconsistently.. probably due to the strikes that happened in NDVO in June 2013...

for oct-nov-early dec 2013 applicants, some got early PPRs but some also got it late, many after getting IP... I dont know about it all, but it seems, that IP-DM took about a month at maximum for most of these guys, unless complicated by remedicals...

NOW, for the late DEC 2013 applicants the trend seems to be.... AR-IP-DM-then PPR.....
It is very very obvious that NDVO has picked up the pace...
i would not be very surprised if i see early Jan,2014 applicants getting IP this week... as the trend suggests....

as it is going now, expect IP-DM timeline to be around 1 month at max unless of course remeds are in place... if it takes more than that, i believe the best course would be to order GCMS NOTES....

wait for at least 54 days as per current processing times to get approval for sponsorship, then you will receive a letter about your approval and same time your file will be transferred to India , meantime you will learn more about based on current trends,
