New Citizenship rules

Hello All,

Can you discuss what is the cut-off date for applying under new rule?

Will they apply this rule to all irrespective when they got PR? I mean if you got PR before the rule has passed, will they give exemption ( Rule applicable to whoever got PR after this date)

It is very unlikely that they will give an exemption to those who landed before the new rule applied. The law did not make any mention of exemption in the rule. So it is likely that it will effect everyone regardless of when one PR landed. Whether PR landed 20 year ago, 10 years ago, or the day before the effective date.

If there were to be any exemptions, it would have stated it in the new citizenship law.
