hello ,

Im a new canadian citizen ( got my immigration documents on my own through the PNP ) who just received my citizenship certificate and passport last august 2014, everything under my single name.

I just got married to also a canadian citizen and would like to have a name change.

Unfortunately, I have a very long single name for my liking ( 1 first name, 1 middle name and 2 last names ) and I would like to know if once I ask to change my last name after marriage ( which is free for 90 days after marriage ) if I can just delete my middle name and one of my last names, keeping my last name as my new middle name and adding my husbands last name as my last name. In this case I would have only 3 official names ( 1st name, middle name which is one of my last names and his last name ).

Can I do that with the application os " change last name after marriage" ?
or
do i need to change my adults name to delete my middle name and one of last names just so then order a last name change ?

I understand that once I change to my husbands name, i will have to order a new passport and citizenship certificate as well as all my government documents ( hip, ontario card, drives license etc ), and thats why i would like to know if i can do all changes in just one form as a "change last name after marriage".

Thanks
Raissa Rangel

You'd have to legally change your name through the province, nothing to do with CIC now. And then change all the documents.
