Hello friends,

NBCC fees are very low, but can anyone tell me about monthly cost of living in New Brunswick cities like in Saint john or Moncton? I hope it is cheaper than bigger cities like Toronto.

How are job opportunities (part time during studies as well as full time after PGWP) in New Brunswick, especially in the 2 biggest cities - Saint john and Moncton?

I heard the unemployment rate is very high and on top NO international STUDENT IMMIGRATION programme in NEW Brunswick.

Those who are joining NBCC, what are your plans for PR?

Kindly share.

Hi Mehtab,

I am myself applying for NBCC.....!!! Yes what i feel like this is less populated area... but all the facilities are there... about the student immigration.. if u go to the website NBCC is a participating institute in off campus work permit.. and where did u hear about newbrunswick students imigration is not there?

Immigration eligibility does not define the area and college name.. it defines if u are done either 2 years of post secondry education or 1 year masters from a public institute and you have almost 1 year of working experience in canada you will be eligible for the immigration... its not
written anywhere that if u did this education from newbrunswick or nova scotia etc.. you wil not be eligible. Newbrunswick is a part of Canada and i don't think that if canadian govt want that more people settle in the un populated area so that it can be develop they have to take positive steps.... if they put these kind of rules no one will go there for studies....!!

Hi Nadeem,

There is no student immigration PNP for International students in the province of New Brunswick.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/various-immigration-programmes-for-international-students-in-canada-t100908.0.html

I know, NBCC is participating college in OCWP and PGWP... and after studies... it will be an open work permit, BUT that would mean relying on CEC or other PNPs for PR.

Also Atlantic provinces..especially New Brunswick and Newfoundland has higher unemployment rates (IN DOUBLE DIGIT) as compared to other Canadian provinces.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_provinces_by_unemployment_rate

YOU ARE JOINING WHICH COURSE AT NBCC?

Hi Nadeem,
There is a skilled worker stream(Employer supported) under NB PNP. But the qualifying criteria is difficult. Need full time skilled job (some NOC,D jobs acceptable) in an area of skill shortage in your field of study and score atleast 50 points. It looks very difficult.
http://www.welcomenb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/petl-epft/PDF/PopGrowth/GuideSWApplicantsEmployerSupport.pdf

With Open work permit, we can work across Canada, but other than very low fees at NBCC, NO other benefit.
