New Born Sponsorship Requirements

I need urgent guidance from Family Immigration Experts.
I am sponsoring my new born daughter born recently but after visa approval from CHC. My wife application was approved a week before my daughter birth.

My questions are?????

What forms i need to submit in Canada?
How much fee I have to pay for an infant?
Can I sign all applications on her behalf because she is infant?
How long it will take to get approval from CPC-Mississauag?

Please I need urgent help because my wife's visa is expiring early next year and as per email response from CHC we need to file sponsorship as soon as possible before expiration of her visa. They have asked to send stamped visa passport back till approval of her sponsorship from canada.

If the baby is not Canadian by birth then you can not use the visa that your wife has, you need to contact CIC and add the child to the existing application send in the paperwork they ask for and they will re-issue a visa that covers your wife and the child.

Given that they want you to send your wife's passport back to them, I suspect they may be adding your baby as a dependent to your wife's application (vs. asking you to sponsor your baby separately). In this case, you would just need to update your existing application to add your baby to the relevant documents, provide your baby's documents (birth certificate, passport, etc), and do the medical exam.

Can you copy/paste the email response you received (editing out any personally identifiable info) and share what VO you are sponsoring your wife through so we can give you some tailored advice?

Here is email I received from CHC:
I understand I have to fill forms but I am confused about how to complete those forms, who will sign those forms me (As sponsor)or my wife (As applicant)?

This is in response to your email (see below).
A new dependent can be added to your application. You must have the child added to both the sponsorship (and pay the processing fee to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga) and to the permanent resident application.
In order to add a new dependent to a sponsorship, the sponsor must call in Canada 1-800-242-2210 and ask for the appropriate forms and instructions.
You must also submit a new application form including this new dependent on the applicant’s form for permanent resident (the application made by the spouse outside Canada).
In order to add the child to the spouse's application for permanent residence at this office, we require the following documents:
-your child’s original birth certificate and form bay
-copy of your child’s valid passport
-4 recent photographs of your child
-updated IMM0008 Generic for the applicant
- your child must undergo a medical examination.
Application forms and photo specifications are available on the CIC web site: www.cic.gc.ca.
Please note that the eligibility of new dependents will be assessed by the visa officer.
Finally please return your original passport and confirmation of permanent resident document to this office for further processing.

You'll have to call that phone number to get the forms and instructions. They will tell you if you or your wife have to fill them out.

On top of the forms the CIC will give you, your wife has to fill out a new IMM0008.

Ok so they have listed everything you need, you will need to resubmit this form... you fill this one out making sure to validate it when finished

your wife will fill out this form just as you did the first time adding your child in the dependents section.

get the childs birth certificate, form bay (I am not sure what this is, I would assume it has something to do with the home country) passport, medical, and 4 photos together along with your wife's passport and CoPR and return them to the VO. Pay the fee for the child which is 150.00 same way you paid the fee's for your wife. there is no RPRF for dependent childern. and then wait for them to re-issue the visa. Good Luck!

In this email response they have only mentioned to pay fee to CPC Mississauga rest send to This office which is CHC-Islo ? Is that correct or
I have to send everything together to CPC Mississauga and they will transfer file to CHC-Islo?

What about medical? Do I need to send proof of medical for infant along with everything? or they will ask separately?
As per creampop my wfie will fill her forms separately for CHC Islamabad and I will fill my sponsorship for CPC Mississauga. So there is no separate generic application for PR for my daughter ?

There are no other forms, They just need what they asked for... they will just add your daughter to the existing application using the updated forms, the fee will be paid to CPC-M as well as your form and the other forms and baby's birth certificate etc.. sent to your VO make sure you include a cover letter with your UCI# and/or application # name, birth date etc... proof of medical, now theres a tricky one you could always send a copy to CPC-M and a copy to your VO that way both places have the number from the medical, someone else may have better information on this one sorry Good Luck!

Pay the fee. If you can do it online that is best and then e-mail the payment confirmation to CPP-M via the links at the bottom of http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-after.asp

Send all the other documents to your Visa Office directly. Include proof of medical exam when you do so, along with the other documents they requested in the e-mail.

There is no separate application for your daughter. She is considered your wife's dependent and is sponsored through there.

If your whole family is already approved to enter Canada with you, then it should be a pretty simple process to buy plane tickets for them and have them arrive in Canada when you're ready for them.

There's a couple of options:

1. You can get their visas at same time as you get your own and have them land after you do but before their visas expire.

2. You don't get visas for them now, or you let their visas expire, and then you sponsor them as family class applicants when you are ready for them to join you. The application is available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp and the current processing timing is at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp. They would need to undergo medical exams again (the current ones where just to check on your eligibility to immigrate as a family) and you'll need to provide proof of your relationship, etc.
