Your child will be Canadian if born outside Canada if your wife was born in Canada herself.
If he's born in Canada, well, there's nothing to do. His birth certificate will prove the canadian citizenship.

If the child is born in India, then he/she will be a Canadian citizen by descent, and you or your wife will need to apply for his/her citizenship certificate at a Canadian embassy or consulate in India.

The difference between citizenship by birth and by descent is that in the former, your child will be able to pass down Canadian citizenship automatically to his/her children born abroad, just as your wife is able to do now because she was born in Canada.
