Hello Everybody,

My wife just delivered a baby boy. Our son was not in the original application sent to CIO.

I received an email saying that our application has received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on June 25, 2011.

My questions;

1. Is it Medical we are waiting for (Myself and wife)
2. Now that we have a son, what do we do?

Please advise.

Regards,
G

Congratulations, Daddy :) Hope Mom and Baby are doing well!

1. Assuming that e-mail was sent by the CIO, they will be sending the application to the visa office. They will review it, ask for medical exams, conduct security and background check, and then ask for your passports.

2. Send a case specific enquiry to the visa office through the links starting at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions.asp (find your visa office -> on the page that pops up, click on 'case specific enquiry' and follow instructions) so they can give you any visa office specific instructions.

They will likely ask you to send them your son's birth certificate, updated application forms reflecting the birth, passport copy, and fee payment for your new addition to include him in the processing.

i recived e-mail today after i send to them for new baby require and still not recived medical/

Dear Madam / Sir,

This is in response to your enquiry.

A new dependent can be added during the processing of an application.

You must submit a new application form including this new dependent on the applicant's form for permanent resident.

In order to add the child to an application for permanent residence at this office, we require the following documents:

processing fee for your child (if accompanying you to Canada)
your child's birth certificate
copy of your child's valid passport
4 recent photographs of your child
updated IMM0008 Generic for yourself and updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” form for yourself and your spouse.
a “Certificat de Sélection du Québec” for your child ( in his or her name), if you wish to immigrate to the province of Québec (http://www.micc.gouv.qc.ca/fr/index.asp)

Copies of the original documents with original certified translations into English or French are required. All documents must be sent by mail.

Your child must undergo a medical examination. Be aware that even non-accompanying dependants must undergo medical examinations.

Application forms and photo specifications are available on our Web site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf

Please note that the eligibility of new dependents will be assessed by the visa officer.

Our office sends immigration decisions and information requests by post to the applicant at the mailing address provided in the application. Therefore, it is important that our office be notified immediately of any change of address and contact details.

any idea?
thanks

Hi,

Zakout wrote clearly regarding the issue. I will enlarge a bit.

How to add a newborn baby into an already submitted case file?

After we have applied for the Canadian PR process there would be occassions when an applicant has been blessed with a newborn baby. Now, if this baby isn't 'added' into our case file & we proceed to 'land' [given that we already have the meds/PPR/PRVs already, it'd be a serious 'misrepresentation of facts' & we could face twin problems... [1]we may not be able to sponsor the baby after entering Canada, [2]we might be deported & face a 2-yrs. ban.

Similalrly, if we r yet to receive our meds, and have a baby meanwhile, the situation might not be that complex, however it makes sense that we 'add' the newborn into our case file asap, else there could be inordinate delays if we don't or delay this action.

Remember, as with all family members [whether accompanying or otherwise] we need to get the baby's meds done; only then s/he could move with u... AND all the PRVs [PR Visas] of the entire family must be linked to each other... that's what the IRPA regulation specifies.

Nothwithstanding the foregoing, here's the procedure to 'add' the newborn into our PR case file:
Advise the VO of a change to your family composition, send them a signed letter (the letter may be scanned and sent as an email attachment) providing them with all required changes to your file. The following information must be included in the letter:
- full name,
- date of birth,
- file number [Letter followed by a nine-digit number],
- telephone number, including area code,
- fax number, including area code, and
- mailing address

How to add your child to your application:

Important: Note that if your child was born in Canada or if one parent is a Canadian citizen, then the child is a Canadian citizen. If that is the case, you do not need to add the child to your application, and no medical examination or fee is required. You must, however, send us a copy of the child's birth certificate. You should also contact the Consular section of the High Commission of Canada to make sure the child has the appropriate travel document.

You will be required to submit the following documents in order to add your child to your application:

- a letter explaining how your family composition has changed and requesting that your child be added to your application
- processing fee for the child (if accompanying you to Canada)
- updated IMM0008 Generic Application Form and updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” form for yourself and your spouse to include added child
- If the child is 18 years or older, an IMM0008, Schedule A and IMM5406 Additional Family Information Form
- notarized copy of the child's birth certificate
- copy of your child's valid passport(s) both valid and expired
- four recent passport-size photographs of your child according to the specifications

- if you applied as a Skilled Worker - updated proof of funds for number of family members to now include added child
- a “Certificat de Sélection du Québec” for your child ( in his or her name), if you are immigrating to the province of Québec (http://www.micc.gouv.qc.ca/fr/index.asp)

Copies of the original documents with original certified translations into English or French are required.

You must send the docs and forms immediately. It is expected 2010 applications to be decided in 2012. Your ecas status will show whether your application is in real In PROCESS or not. What is your ecas status? Mind it, you, your spouse and your child will get MR at a time as you already informed visa office via email about the birth of your child.
