I am a Canadian citizen sponsoring my U.S. partner. I will not working for a Canadian company, but remotely for a U.S. one - unfortunately, at the time that we apply, I will not have been in Canada long enough to receive a Notice of Assessment, so I plan on utilizing my IRS tax documents, in addition to a letter of employment to prove that I have a job to support us. I noticed that the online portal has changed a little. My question (if you have seen the changes), is, would I be submitting my employment info under "Employment/Source of Support," or "Proof of Income"? What is the difference between the two?
And hypothetically, if we were to enter forms under the incorrect section, would it simply be returned to us or would be instantly reject the application?
