I submitted my sponsorship application for my spouse on March 23, 2017. The full application was just returned to yesterday due to missing forms (according to IMM 5525, I only enclosed the documents for sponsor, not the documents for main applicant.) I misunderstood the instruction and thought all documents for main applicant should be sent later agter I got the sponsorship approval first.
Anyone could help me on the following questions will be highly appreciated:

1. Should I make another application fee payment? (letter from application intake does not mention anything about that)
2. Should I submit all documents on IMM 5525 this time except police certificate and medial exam?
3. I am applying for Open working permit for my spouse at the mean time, should I enclose the application for that in the same package?
4. Regarding the processing time, anyone doing this recently willing to share your update will be highly appreciated.
5. If I re-submit my application next week, any expectation to get the open working permit? I need that to waive the tuition fee for my spouse's son before this September.

When submitting the application for Sponsorship application forms and supporting documents for the Sponsor and the Applicant should all be sent in the same package.

I'm not sure if it's true but I heard online from IRCC that if your application gets returned your fees will be refunded to you. This normally takes some time, so it is up to you whether you want to pay again just to be safe. I would recommend calling IRCC Call Centre Agents as they will know a lot more than anyone.

Medical Examination and Police Certificate aren't required upfront but they can be submitted if you'd like to. There may be a chance they request them again if they fall out of validity.

You can submit the Open Work Permit Application with your Sponsorship Application, this normally gets sent after Approval in Principal but I have heard it can take up to 4 months from when you get AIP again I'm not sure if that's true.

Processing time for Inland is 12 months and Outland can be a little bit less.

The medical exam cannot be done upfront anymore. Panel physicians will not schedule one without the appropriate form.

this is not true. a refund does not automatically start when the application is returned. it is not necessary to pay the fees again. the receipts will still be valid when resubmitting.

um... no. the ircc call center agents certainly do NOT know more than anyone. a person will get better and more accurate information on this forum. the call centre agents are notorious for providing wrong information.

again, not correct. the OWP is not issued after AIP if the OWP application is sent in with the pr application. if the applicant is in status when the application is received with the PR application, it will be issued in 4-5 months. it's when the OWP application is sent in separately from the PR application that it will not be issued until after AIP.

Thanks a lot. 6 month is not that long, what could I expect then? conditional approval?

Appreciated. It seems like for me to get open working permit before September is very low?

Great help. I hope to be good luck to get it before this September.

Any idea about international student tuition fee refund if we are late to provide the OWP for next semester?

Regarding the refund I am only going by what I found myself on the IRCC website and that states that if your application is returned the fees will be returned to you.

Call Centre Agents can definitely assist you with what to do. They are the contact point for IRCC and they can put the right information in front of you via email.

The fees are only refunded if the application actually starts being processed. An incomplete app is not processed.

The call centre is staffed by inexperienced and untrained people who can barely answer the most absolute basic questions.

Ah okay they didn't clarify that on their webpage it just said that if they return your application they will refund all fees, thank you for reiterating that.

Please don't take this the wrong way. You made some very basic errors in your application and I wonder if there are other errors. CIC will only address the paperwork list at the beginning. Other errors could show up later. I encourage you to take the time to really check closely. Most communities have a volunteer program at an immigration centre that will look over your application.

Hello everyone, Please advise
My application (submitted on 13 oct 2017) is returned today as incomplete, i included IELTs-Academic, but it is not acceptable to them, they only accept General Test.
Please advise me regarding the following:
- I am planning to include Language proficiency document and return the old application is it okay? Previously it was a family application but now I will apply separately as other members of my family can not provide language proficiency evidence at this time.
- I will send the old Application Fee which is for three people, will IRCC refund me the fee of two other members of my family as they will apply latter.
-Is one year Graduate Certificate of a College ( one year diploma) acceptable for IRCC as prove of language? Or can i submit the college language placement assessment test result which is just a piece of paper, written by hand?

Thanks for your assistance in advance,
