Needs help and information on re entry visa application while inside Canada

Hi I am newbie! I am a temporary foreign worker here in Canada and I am planning to visit my fiancee in NYC, USA. I just got my working permit renewed but my visa is expired. Can you pls tell me how and where to apply for a re entry visa?

Do you have a visa to the US? You can send your app for TRV to one of the visa offices in the US. Buffalo or Seattle.

Hi Kayers,

If you have valid US Visitor Visa, you need 2 things:

1. Valid passport
2. Valid Work Permit with min 6 months validity from date of entry to US.

If you have these, you can just drive down to NYC, and come back. You would be required to carry your original work permit while entering Canada with a valid ID besides your passport

I don't have a US visa yet, I am about to apply for it but I wanted to get a re entry visa(Canada) first before applying for US visa. Can you please give me an advice which should I get first? Thank you for your time and information.

Send your application for your TRV to Buffalo then (shorter processing time as per a friend's experience). Follow the links:

You need a letter from your employer or a contract that shows you're still employed and a copy of your WP.
