Hey Guys

I would like to have your opinions on my application.

I have a 10 years multiple USA visa and i hv been to usa on 3rd of Feb to 6th of march 2013. Now i am looking forward to apply for canada. What you think what are the chances of getting the tourist visa of canada ? What should i apply for ? Single or Multiple ? As i'll be doing multiple entries in canada while i will in usa coming august to october. Is there less chances in multiple rather than single ? I am applying with my father who is doing a job in govt sector bank (State Bank of India) as a branch manager since 30 years. He is also holding a USA multiple visa. We want to see niagara falls and CN tower in canada. I heard that there are much more chances for us to get a tourist visa because of USA visa. Is it true ? How much funds do i have to show in my bank account ?

Hope to have a favourable reply.

Thanx in advance. Cheers

While it might certainly earn some brownie points to have US visa, it's a separate application for Canada and they DO prefer to apply from home country. My friends father in law did the same last time, he got the visa albeit it was for 10 days only and they were all senior citizens in a tour
You can apply/multiple, it's upto them what they give you but they would need a good reason as to why it wasn't planned and reason for not applying from home country
I hope you have the paperwork from India, proving ties to India, bank balance, properties, family info and good travel history in the passport
An invite from a friend would also benefit

Well, single is where your intent is to visit once for a specific reason...there is no harm for asking Multiple ( they might refuse or just give you single ) but your intent seems confusing

You will visit US, and they give you six months and in that time, you plan to visit Canada multiple times? you might have to state the reson for multiple entry

Also, not sure if you are aware but read this - https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/751/~/traveling-to-other-countries-while-in-the-u.s.-on-a-b1-or-b2-visa

Read below, re-entering US from Canada within 1 month doesn't extend the US by 6 months

Can I go to other countries while I'm in the U.S. on a B1 or B2 Visa?

B-1 or B-2 visas: During your visit to the U.S., you may visit Canada or Mexico for up to 30 days and re-enter the U.S. as long as you re-enter within the period noted on the Form I - 94 which you received when you first entered.

For instance, if you come to the U.S. on July 10 on a B2 Visitor Visa, you may go to Canada and/or Mexico on or after December 10, and reenter the U.S. any time up until January 10. But because the six month period is up on January 10, you will also have to depart from the U.S. on that same day to avoid being an "overstay" (unless you applied for an extension of stay).

Note: The six month period is computer generated from the day you arrived into the U.S. It is recommended that when making travel plans you not wait until the last day of your six month stay as unexpected emergencies can arise.

If you visit other countries such as England or Costa Rica, then return to the U.S., your re-entry will be considered to be a new admission, rather than a re-entry from a contiguous country in the course of your initial visit, and the admission inspection may be more strenuous. The CBP Officer inspecting you will want evidence that you intend to go back home to your country of citizenship to live as opposed to returning again and again to the U.S. after visits to other countries. Remember, a B1 or B2 visa allows you to come to the U.S. to visit. If the CBP Officer suspects that you are actually trying to be a de facto resident, you will be denied entry.

Re-entry is, of course, dependent on your continued eligibility to enter. If you have been arrested or committed an illegal act resulting in a warrant in your name since the time the visa was issued, you could be denied re-entry.
============================================================

having US visa and good travel history does help, amongst other docs but don't rely solely on the fact that it will be guaranteed coz u have US visa - I know few ppl who were denied assuming that and never went prepared
