Seniors ;
Please be informed that I entered Canada on June 2010 as skilled worker then left after 2 months to complete my job contract.
After few months 3 years will pass out of five years and I m still outside canada.
my inquiry is; Is it necessary to Stay the comming 2 years in Canada to to keep my residency valid.
I heard if I stay more than three years ouside Canada my P.R. will cancell and I can not enter Canada.
Is that true, or I Can enter Canada sice the P.R. Valid.
Waiting ypur reply.
Best regards

1. Yes.
2. If you don't meet the residency requirements on re-entry you can be reported, and will have 30 days to appeal the decision on the loss of your PR status.

Your PR does not automatically get cancelled if you stay outside for more than 3 years and many people are able to enter Canada with a still valid PR card. However, you run the risk that you could be reported on entry and lose your PR.

If you have a baby you need to sponsor for PR, it is essential that you return to Canada before your 3 years are up because if you do not meet the residency obligation yourself, you can not sponsor your child.

As a PR, you must be in Canada to sponsor your child.

If your son is visa exempt to Canada, just take him with you and apply after you have arrived.

If your son is not visa exempt, you can try to apply for a TRP (special permit to take him with you to Canada) but if you are refused, you will have to go alone in order to sponsor him.

Your son being special needs will not affect the sponsorship because you are already PR and he is your dependent child, he can not be refused a PR just because he may be considered excessive demand on health care.
