Hello guys!!!
I am in a urgent need of advice, which can indeed be life changing.
I am planning to move from India to Canada preferably to toronto on a student visa , with a pure intent to settle.
But before that the following things are making me think thousand times before I apply as a student
By gods grace I am quite well off in India having a decent family run restaurant in heart of Mumbai, India.
Have a average monthly income of around 3000$ Canadian or 1.5 lakes Indian currency after taxes.
No liabilities or loans to pay off.
Being a sole child I have responsibility towards my ageing parents in India dad is 60 mom is 55.
Spend hardly 10 minutes to travel in a day to reach my restaurant.

But coming to the point of immigration I had been to the UK on student visa for 2 years ,worked in hotel industry as a bartender also did my post graduation diploma in hospitality in London, ever since I am back to India since two years the lifestyle and quality of living have really made me think of migrating out of India.

So is it advisable for me to do a course in hospitality in toronto, get a job in hotel industry and settle??
Will it be worth leaving a stable family business and risk it for a totally new world??

Will be really great full if anyone can help.
Thanks and regards.

Hi,

If you have money, and such a successful business... can definitely show funds and business experience... and really want to immigrate... why not immigrate through Canadian Business immigration programmes.
At present the immigrant investor program and the federal entrepreneur program are closed, but a lot of provincial nominee Business immigration programmes are open. Unlike the investor visas (which requires min. 1.6 Million C$ of assets to show and invest half of it for direct PR - i,e if you qualify)... the Entrepreneur/Business immigration programs are much affordable, where one needs to show assets of minimum 300,000$ (1.6 crore INR.) and if the applicant qualifies (by scoring minimum required points, meeting other requirements such as exploratory visit- depending upon different province programs), then invest minimum 100,000-150,000C$ (54 lacs - 81 lacs INR) in a new or existing business and run the business for a certain period (Again depending upon different PNPs or provincial Nominee programs) and then a PR is granted. It's much easier way to get entry to Canada, and you don't have to compete for jobs or try to secure PR by applying into 1 of various student immigration programs.
To have a look at various PNP business immigration programs check:
http://www.canadavisa.com/pnp-business-immigration.html
To know more, visit the official websites (find by Googling) of each Business PNP programs.
Moreover, under business immigration programs, you can take your aging parents immediately to Canada as dependents, and take care of them over there.
Remember, every one wants to move to Toronto, in Ontario province... and hence the minimum investment for business immigration program of Ontario PNP is 1 Million C$ (or around 5.4 crores INR). Believe me Canada is huge and every province has it's own charm. You can move to provinces such as New Brunswick, which has comparatively less complicated Business immigration laws and need to show total assets of 300,000 C$ and invest only 150,000C$. You should definitely consider this option... it's perfectly suited for you... not to mention you do have real running profitable business. Most of people are not fortunate enough as you are... and many depend on loans... and yet few struggle to gather 12-23 lacs INR required for studies.

Hope you got the point.

Thanks for the advise tiger007,
Right now I am aged 25 so I am considering student visa as a option to enter Canada, this September intake or January 2014 for a post graduation course.
Gain some educational credentials, also get some practical job experience and actually figure out wether to settle in Canada, work there, or start a business,
Meanwhile let the restaurant back home run by my manager,
It's a risk but still confused if its worth it.
Thanks

I like your plan and sincerely I think you are on the right path to progress
First
1)You have age on your side as you are just 25( if to say you are 40 and above I would have said No way)
2)You are coming into Canada to acquire more knowledge,(PG Diploma or M.sc ) resulting into Canadian experience, work permit , Solid Job and subsequently a PR
3) You are planning for the future and even expansion of your Business and connections.
In conclusion, Take the next step by working on ur plans i.e get ur admission letter then apply for visa.
The World is at your feet.

Thanks brilliantone!!!
Really appreciate your feed back,
Right now my only confusion is to abandon a business which gives me around rupees 1.60 Lakhs or 3000$ CAD per month after taxes and start fresh, immigrate to a new country and having a uncertain future,
So I wanted to know from experienced members if its worth it?
As I have heard many senior members not to immigrate.
Thanks.
