Last year I applied for a TWP in the LMIA exemption category (as a researcher). Due to a stupid mistake I confused the category and the application was refused quite fast. Then, I applied again almost 5 months ago. Now I got a reply from Immigration asking me for the payment of the corresponding employer compliance fee. I have until March 15th. So I have some doubts ... and would be very grateful if you could enlighten me on this:
1) Since my employer paid this fee already last year, does it make sense to pay it again? ... or could I just submit the confirmation of the payment from last year - which I actually did with the current application?
2) Does my employer need to write another LMIA exemption application for the work permit (this they didn't ask right now, but I am now worried that they might after receiving the payment) or would it just be fine to pay again / resend the payment confirmation from last year?
3) Already 5 months passed, there is another month to pay, is there any reaonsable guess of how long they would take for a decision after paying?
(Just fyi: I am still fine with the timeline since I have some flexibility, but they are cutting it close)
Thanks for your reply!!
