Need to come back to Canada

Hi,
I was a landed immigrant to Canada 10 years back. After couple of months, I had to go back to my country because my mother got cancer. The cancer was in an advanced stage so I could not leave because I had to take care of her as I am the elder son. Now I decide to come back to Canada and stay permanently. With the following consideration, is there any way to return back to Canada?
1- I have two sons with PR status are now studying in Canada.
2- I have one child was born outside Canada.
3- I do not have a PR card because it started after I left Canada
4- The landing papers for me and my wife has been lost.

If you want them to give you a travel document to go back, you must have had a good reason why you could not meet the residency requirements. For example, if you took care of your sick mother the entire time, that is a good reason. However, if your mother had died some years ago and you still did not take the opportunity then to return to Canada, then you have less of a chance.
