Dear Advisers,

Special wishes to Bryanna and Scylla

I Indian Citizen & I am Planning to apply for TRV from Abu Dhabi, i am working in Middle East for about 8 months now but planned to attend two days training workshop in Canada in month of September, which is purely connected to my profession and job, i live here with my family(Wife & daughters) but willing to travel alone for a week.

Let me give bit brief about myself, i traveled many countries including UK,Europe,SA,US and other middle east and far east etc, i first traveled in 2005 to UK and thereafter traveled other countries including US 3 times,my last visit to US was in September 2015, i have valid visa for UK-10 years, US-10 Years. I completed my MSc from UK in year 2008-2009 and immediately left the country after completion of my studies,

I came to India and started own business, thereafter my scope of job was to visit various countries, I 1st started my job in middle east in year 2004 and worked till 2008 left to UK and came back to India in 2010 and till 2015 i was stationed in India, and now i am working in Middle east from 8 months.

In year 2002 i was refused visa for South Africa, in 2005 refused visa to Australia, 1st refused to Canada in 2006, 1st refuse to USA in 2007,2nd refuse to Canada in 2009 in UK, 3rd refuse to Canada in 2014 in India with family. I clearly understood i made lot of mistake while applying to Canada, after referring this forum got fair idea how to show strong tie to country of residence or home country, but when i applied to Canada i only mentioned refusal to USA and Canada. I haven't showed many documents which i had.

Please advise now how i can plan wisely without any mistake and what all documents i can show with present job and about my business etc..., my intention is only to go and attend workshop and get back to Job. but want to keep my Canada visit for future visit to enhance my skills, knowledge and abilities etc.

Regards,

Hi,

1. Are you managing your own business or are you employed with another company?

2. You have a number of refusals from many countries, including 3 refusals for Canada + 1 refusal for the US. You must declare each and every refusal for all countries (and not only the refusals for Canada and the US) when you apply again

3. What were the refusal reasons for each Canada TRV applicationl? Was one of the refusal reasons for not being truthful?

4. What documents did you submit for your 2014 Canada TRV application?

5. What strong ties can you show to the UAE and to India: Property ownership/lease agreement + family ties + financial situation, etc? As you have been in the UAE since fairly recently, you will have to demonstrate your strong ties to India also

Cheers

Hi Bryanna,

1. Yes i was managing own business and i have all licenses, ITR only for 2009-2010, 2010-11,2011-12 and bank statement from 2010 to 2014 (good standing). As of now my brother is looking the business in India and I am working now with other company (since 8 to 9 months)

2. Yes i'll declare this time, but when last time i applied from UAE and UK to Canada in passport there was refusal stamps.

3. In 1st (2006-UAE) and 2nd (2009-UK)refusal it was mentioned ''Purpose of Visit, employment in country of residence, you'll not leave the country after the visit and financial etc.. but when applied from India in 2014 with family, no travel history, you'll not leave the country after the visit and may be financial(My wife and daughters had US 10 year multiple but they haven't traveled abroad). In any application they haven't mentioned untruthful.

4. Ownership licenses, property tax, bank statement current and saving, fixed deposit which was done very recently before travel & hotel booking. What all strong ties i can show for family ties India and UAE, my wife is pregnant i have doctors medical report, what else?

Note: last time i haven't included my previous visas copies because i had lost my passport and i didn't had copies but now i was able to get from email which was scanned(luckily) but in new passport i had visa of US, UK, SA work permit and other African countries etc

Hi,

1. Are you still managing your business, in some way, on a day-to-day basis.... and can you provide evidence for this? Or do you only earn an income from it as your brother manages it?

2. Will your current employer pay for your visit/workshop training?

3. What documents do you have from the Canadian company/host for this workshop training?

4. Do you have an employment contract? Valid until?

One point:
Even though you have a valid US visa/visited the US last year.... and you are eligible to apply for a TRV under the CAN+ program, I would advise you not to apply under CAN+ because of your previous TRV refusals

Cheers

I have been admitted for a french language and culture course at McGill University in Quebec city for January 2017. I have fully paid for my course and also paid fully for off campus accommodation.

I am 23 years and hold an Associate Degree in Hospitality Management and a flight attendant certificate, I want to work as a flight attendant or Restaurant supervisor or manager in a big hotel that is why i want to learn the french language which will give me an advantage.

I own a grocery and cosmetic shop and the business has been registered in my name.

DOCUMENT I WILL BE SUBMITTING TO THE EMBASSY

*Acceptance Letter

*Accommodation reservation receipt

*My Business Registration Certificate and Tax Receipts

*Tenancy agreement for my rented shop

*University Certificate and transcripts

*Few receipts of good I purchase to my shop

*Personal Bank Statement with $2000 CND and Reference letter from bank

*Statement of Purpose

*Letter from my Church to give evidence of my role and duties in Church

*Tenancy agreement of my rented room

*Sponsors Bank Statement with balance of $4600 CND and reference letter from the bank (My Sponsor is my Biological mother)

*Sponsorship Letter

*Affidavit of Sponsorship

*Copy of sponsors passport

Do I have a strong case to be a successful applicant?

NB:I am using a sponsor because my business is only a year and 2 months old

@JAM999

1. Yes i am still managing the business and i can show evidence but i am afraid to show, reason if they think now i am working and still managing business.
IMO, as you have started working/moved to the UAE fairly recently, you must include your India business ties also. For this, include ITRs for the last 2 years (2011-12 is not the most recent one) + 6 months company bank statements + Partnership Agreement + audit statement, etc

2. No, i am paying for the my visit/workshop training
1. If it is work-related then shouldn't your employer be paying for it?
2. In the covering letter, briefly explain how this workshop training will help you in your current job
3. Letter from your employer confirming your employment, job title, purpose of trip, who is paying for the workshop (on business stationery) + contact details of your manager/HR

4. yes i have employment contract, renewing every year. But my exiting contract will finish Dec-16, in offer letter clearly mentioned contract will continue till either one party will resign or terminate etc.
You can include:
1. Letter from your employer stating they will be renewing your employment contract post-December 2016.
2. 6 months pay slips

For your UAE ties:
1. Evidence of your immigration status/resident permit in the UAE (for yourself and your wife) to prove your family ties to the UAE
2. 1-2 months utility/phone bills

For your India properties:
Indicative market rates from property portals/Citibank Property Reports to support the valuation

Do prepare a Covering Letter with separate sections for your previous TRV refusals and how you have addressed the refusal reasons + your strong ties to the UAE (point-wise) + strong ties to India (point-wise) + why you must return to the UAE by XX date (with evidence).

Give reference numbers to each evidence and state these evidence reference numbers/evidence name.... in your covering letter/other explanations.

Prepare an Explanation XX: My Travel History.... in a table format, give the visa details for each country + entry/exit dates + purpose of each visit + scan each visa (chronological order for the last 10 years, including refusals)

Cheers

The duration is six weeks, can i use my shop (Business) and tenancy agreement?
Yes, you can certainly use these documents.

The visa officer would question why you want to travel to Canada to learn French.... especially if you have similar programs closer to your home country + you have never traveled abroad earlier.

It's not possible to learn French fluently in a short 6 weeks course. It's not easy considering the grammar/verb conjugations/tenses/vocabulary. It's your choice though

I have a personal teacher who is teaching me the basic two times in a week. There are Francophone countries around me but they are French is quite different from what the white speaks.I wanted to chose France but very scared with the terror attacks they have been witnessing recently.

For traveling history I have traveled to South Africa on two occasions.

Can you please help me with a sample of statement of purpose?

Hi,

This can help for the Cover Letter..... it must have separate sections for:
1. Host (details)

2. Applicant (Name, Date of Birth, Address, Passport, Nationality, Employment, Title, Salary)

3. My previous TRV refusals + UCI Number + how I have addressed these refusal reasons

4. My previous refusals for other countries + My immigration status in the UAE (scan the resident permit)

5. My strong ties to the UAE and to India (Net Worth + Value of Properties + Financial Situation + Family, etc etc)

6. My previous travel history to the US (scan the US visa + entry/exit stamps)..... also state you are including a separate Explanation XX: My Previous Travel History (for all countries like I had explained in an earlier post)

7. My Purpose of Visit (separate Explanation XX included), My Overall Finances (liquid and locked-in), Funds available for my visit

8. Why I must return to the UAE by XX date

Try to keep the above details in a point-wise format so that it's easy to read

Also let me know do i have to apply normal TRV or CAN+?
Apply as a normal TRV and not under the CAN+ program..... because you have 3 previous refusals (including for Finances).

what sort of ties i can show towards my mom, dad and siblings ?
Any joint property or land ownership..... joint financial investments.... foreign remittances to your parents/siblings

1. You must provide adequate evidence of your UAE immigration status

2. Based on your first post.... do NOT mention anywhere that you would like to visit Canada in the future too "to enhance my skills, knowledge and abilities etc."

IMO, your chances would be significantly better if your employer pays for your workshop training/Canada visit..... If you pay for it then it could appear as a *desperate* attempt to visit Canada after 3 previous refusals

Cheers
