Hi ,
My mom will be visiting. I need some help selecting a good health insurance. Is it possible to get health insurance for non-emergency situations as well... not sure how it works here in Canada for visitors. I am a PR and want to make sure that I have my mom properly protected during her stay. Ofcourse she will be getting her own medication from India but you can never be too careful , if you know what I mean.

Any help appreciated ..

Thank you.

Hello tan1chak2: The only insurance available for visitors is for emergencies only. This is to prevent people from coming strictly for the purpose of obtaining medical care without paying into the system that supports it. There are a number of different carriers in Canada, and I represent most of them. My job as a broker is to help you understand the options available and the differences between the variousnpoliciesnso you can obtain the best policy for you at the lowest cost. I would be pleased to help you find coverage for your mom and would invite you to visit my website for more details.

There are 2 companies now that offer coverage for non emergencies. Those include some regular check ups as well as eye exams and other benefits. Certain conditions must be met in order to qualify for this coverage.

The plans that I am talking about is TIC Inpatriates to Canada
