Dude, Check the 24 occupation list posted by CIC on their website. Then check if any of your brother's occupation falls in the list. Find the corresponding NOC 2011 code list from the HRSDC website. Follow the "Apply as a Skilled Worker" link in CIC page. The information is all there in the CIC website.

Hmm, I guess he can go to Federal Skilled Worker category but he may not have any Work experience letters from his employer since he was a business man. May be seniors can advise.

Seniors - Please advise.

If the your brother's occupation falls on the NOC list, apply under federal skilled worker and treat since 2002 as working. For work experience matter, get 7 to 8 people who your brother deals with and tell them to make a letter stating their dealing with him.

My dad was a chartered accountant doing his own practice, he took letter from few of his clients saying that he prepares their accounts and other related work.

Hope CIC will approve, after all the whole point is a person having knowledge in a specific field from NOC, you have to prove that he can work in this field in canada.(logically speaking)

Best of luck
