Hello,

I have applied for the Masters of Computer Science in University of Regina for the Summer Intake i.e May 2019.
I have already evaluated my degree and certificate through WES as per University requirements and according to WES I have 3.54 CGPA in my four years of Bachelor's Program. I did my bachelor's in Computer Engineering. I am also working as a Software Quality Assurance/Software Analyst in a software house and my total work experience is around 2 years and 6 months.

I wanted to know my acceptance chances? Also if anybody know how many students get enrolled in one semester in computer science?

Think you have a decent chance. Assume you are looking at a coursework masters. If it is thesis based you ned to be finding professor to supervise you. I'd suggest that you apply to 3 universities at a minimum. It is not unusual for Canadian students to apply for multiple programs unless they are such a superstar student (e.g. +95% marks plus they have a successful start-up that is saving the wold). Really depends on how many international students apply for the spots. Canada has become one of the most popular countries for international students so the quality of applicants has increased dramatically in the past 10-15 years and therefore the competition for entrance into a program has increased. Masters programs in Canada are not huge. Best of luck.

Thank you for your response. Yes I have applied for thesis based masters. Does it really a requirement to find a supervisor? I have already emailed various supervisors, giving them all the relevant details about myself but hasn't got the respond yet from them.

Yes it is really important to find a supervisor. Depending on the program it may be a requirement. In other programs it may be the deciding factor when compared to a similar application. I would find professors who have similar areas of research interest as you do. I would compose a short email about your background and grades and a short blurb about your area of research interest or proposed thesis and that you are looking for a supervisor. They get lots of emails. No long paragraphs. If you can grab their attention someway or make some sort of eye catching presentation relating to your research that may be what gets a response. I also would consider applying to a few programs especially if you are looking at thesis based.
