I ( Canadian citizen) moved down from Ontario to the United States and became a permanent resident to be there for my wife & soon to be born daughter

8 years later we are wanting to move back to Canada

I have been to the Immigration website & I am VERY confused

What forms do I need and do I have to fill out 1 form for my wife & 1 form for our daughter( 2 forms total )

What are the fees involved for each of the forms

Does someone know what this will cost for my wife & daughter (minus any fee's involved in background checks/medical etc etc)

Please do not send me back to the website I have looked and do not understand

Your daughter is Canadian and does not need to be (cannot be) sponsored. Get her a Canadian passport.

You and your wife will need to fill out the entire application package (part of which is for you, part of which is for her). There are several forms, all of which you will need to include in the package with supporting documentation as required in the instructions.

Your wife will need to get a medical exam (costs money and is probably cheaper if you can do it in Canada) and police background checks for every country she has lived in for more than 6 months since turning 18 (getting the background checks for the states she's lived in couldn't hurt, either).

The fees you pay to CIC should total $1040.

Your daughter is Canadian as long as you were born in Canada. If that is the case, I would advise applying for her citizenship card ASAP...it takes quite a bit of time to get it.

Sorry to send you back to the website, but that's where you'll find all the forms! There is a guide there as well with a document checklist as well as a regional guide for sponsoring someone from the US which will give instructions on medical and background checks. Just download the forms you will need for Spousal Sponsorship - Outland.

Assuming the daughter is about 8 years old, she's Canadian even if he wasn't born in Canada.

You can find more info about sponsoring a US citizen wife at US2Canada. There are links there to the CIC website for the forms you need, and info on what's required as far as medical exam, criminal clearances, etc. You'll also need to include information with your application that evidences your intention to return and re-settle in Canada.

As has already been mentioned, if you are a Canadian citizen your daughter is a dual Canadian/US citizen and doesn't have to be sponsored. But you will want to get her Canadian passport. If you haven't already done that, you need to first get her Citizenship Certificate.

You will find the outland sponsorship forms here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp
That's for your wife.

For your daughter, like other people have said, contact the Canadian embassy in the US to apply for her citizenship certificate.
