I put in an application sponsorship my wife back in August 5th, 2016 were CIC recieved it. The application is for outside Canada in sao paulo. I was recieved a message stating that qualified as a sponsor on September 2nd. We have not heard anything since. I went to my MP and was told a while back that the application is still here in Canada. Which worries me because my parents applied and their application was sent to Sao Paulo as soon as my stepfather was approved as a sponsor.
Can anyone shine a bit of light on this.
Thanks

I had my process done in Sao Paulo as well. There is a chance you could have your process done in Ottawa hence your application is still in Canada. You normally won't hear from the Visa office unless they need something from you so this is a good thing. You need to be patient and trust they are processing your application. I would request your GCMS notes and you'll get a clear picture as to where exactly your application is and it's status. The entire process could take about 9 months so you still have a while to go ...good luck!
