I am writing to ask some advice, my wife is a Canadian citizen and has been on a youth mobility visa for 2 years, she recently applied for the spousal visa in the UK but was rejected because she did not meet the financial requirement.

So now she has to go back to Canada in a few weeks, and I am going with her as I have no job or family in the UK. I'm a UK citizen. I am worried because I do not know what I can apply for. Do I need a temporary visitors
visa before I can apply for the spousal visa in Canada? I have already got an ETA and will get a police certificate but the medical I will do once I get in Canada.

If someone could reply back with some advice or any phone numbers in the UK I could ring?

Thanks!

Basically, if you are here as a visitor you have a temp visa.

If you are going to apply for spousal visa DO IT NOW!
Don't wait another day.
If you have anything that you can apply for (skilled workers, etc) you may want to start that process so that after your 6 months in Canada you don't have to worry about an extension to stay longer.

Note that the inland sponsorship processing times are longer than the outland.. you may want to consider that before you application as well.

I hope some of that might be helpful through the process!!
Best of luck

As a visa-exempt British citizen, you don't even qualify for a TRV. You will be coming to Canada as a visitor on the eTA.

What advice are you looking for?
