Need information for Open Work Permit for spouse

Hello...
I just came to Canada and currently working in Canada and holding Work Permit. My wife is currently working (Software Engineer) in India and will join me here in Canada by June end. My wife will come with dependent visa.

I would like to know the process of applying open work permit for her. Can she the open work permit at airport itself (port of entry) while entering to Canada? How many days do it take if she will apply after coming to Canada?

My suggestion - apply for open work permit before entering canada as your wife is coming on dependent visa ( I am assuming it is a visitor visa), she wont be eligible for work after landing in Canada. She will be given her open work permit on arrival to Canada (airport) provided the visa officer is convinced. Hi Sujith...Thanks for your help. I would like to know, to apply for open work permit from India, she should have dependent visa 1st and then can apply for open work permit or she can straightway apply for open work permit without having a dependent visa?
I have applied for her dependent visa thru my company and submitted the passport for the same.

To add one more question, as she is currently working so will she be able to apply for open work permit or she needs to quite job just to apply for open work permit?
