I believe you meant "out of status." Depending on how long you were out of status, you will be subjected to either a 3 year ban or a 10 year ban.
I believe if you stayed in U.S. illegally for more than 180 days up to 1 year, you are subject to the 3-year ban; and if you overstayed for more than one year, you are subject to a 10-year ban.
You can always look into applying for a waiver, which can be very costly, and you definitely cannot do alone unless with the help of an expert U.S. immigration attorney. Some attorneys will even discourage you from applying for the waiver unless you have a critical scenario such as having a U.S. spouse.
