Well, my friend, depending on your visa office they might not update your eCas at all. In my case, my eCAS was never updated from "we received your file on may 9th 2012", even though I have received my medical request. Therefore, I wouldn't rely too much on your eCAS for accurate information on your file.
In process just means they have received your file and it is past the first stage at the CIO in Sydney. What happens next is best explained in this post here (even though it's a little outdated)

The only thing you need really is patience, one day you'll receive an email from CIC with further instructions. Could be next month, could be 3 months from now.. it all depends how many files that came before you and how fast they are processing at your particular visa office.
