hey , i wish to immigrate to canada , am studing medicine and plan to qualify as a anestheasologist.
from Fatah univeristy in libya , with this quailification and 1 year of experiance will i be able to immigrate to canada and work there as an anestheaologist , when it comes to fitting in the culture , english is like my first lang. i am mistaken for an american some times , anyways what concerns me is that i read somewere on the net that doctors who quilify in developing nations end up cleaning street , working in restourants and such in canada, this really worries me is it true , can someone answer my questions properly , thanks .

You must have CANADIAN QUALIFICATIONS to work in professional areas, as in your case medicine. They don't recognise foreign qualifications.Moreover they require also canadian experience.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp , if you have qualification and experience as they need, you can apply for immigration to canada. Go to bellow website, in left hand box, type your occupation and see codes, what is your NOC code and see details of duties etc to determine if you are eligible.

It may be hard to get licensed to work as a doctor in Canada but that doesn't mean you have to clean streets. Some doctors stayed with the licensing and did it again, some have gotten licensed to work as a nurse because it was easier and nurses make pretty good money too, some may have gone into administrative jobs in a hospital etc. Just depends on what you can do or what you want to do.

OMG from what i hear is terrible , are u saying that i cant work as an anestheasologist!!! thats my job i cant live my life working as somthing else ,since i was a kid i loved nothing but anestheasology, !! isnt there a way that i can be certified , i still didnt specialise , can i specialise in canada ? and if i can (i hope to god i can) will i then be able to work as a anestheasologist ?
