need immigration lawyer in edmonton

I would like to ask if anyone here knows a good immigration lawyer in Edmonton or has the same problem as mine..CIC took my passport already for the issuance of my PR confirmation and i am just waiting for them to send back my passport, but AINP office contacted me that the IELTS I submitted to them last NOV. 2013 for ainp nomination were no longer valid and says I'm short .5 in listening. AINP wanted me to retake the exam or else they would withdraw my AINP nomination and says they would contact CIC to hold my application. I am already almost in the final stage of my application. Any advise? AINP office is giving me a week deadline and my passport is already at CIC office. I didn't get any email from CIC office that I have a problem with my application so I'm wondering if i should ask them. Also could anybody recommend a good immigration lawyer here in Edmonton? any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

In my opinion, I would take the test. It might cost you more money to hire an immigration lawyer than taking the test.

Agreed. Even if you get your passport back with Visa and CoPR before Alberta contacts CIC, doesn't mean they can't withdraw it if need more information. It's shitty that the province wasn't more timely in making their request, but if they need an updated test then that's how it has to be.

Study up and practice your listening, then re-do the test ASAP. Send it to Alberta as soon as you get it, and take the results with you when you land if you get your passport back before that.

but I submitted my passport to CIC because they also have a deadline date for me to submit it and now I need my passport back for the english exam bcoz of the deadline date for me to submit my exam result to ainp. i wanted to wait for my passport with PR confirmation but i have to get my passport back for the exam..

you must draft one explanation letter that its not possible to you take exam withing week,
tell them you need passport and you have submitted to cic. technically i have to wait until i
get.another option is find any immigration lawyer by google asap. its really shocking that at last stage they demanding
weird requirements. what they did when they allot you nomination.they even dont know its impossible
to get date in city like edmonton withing week.they are very very soft with refugees what about ppl like us
are we also human or not?
