Hey guys!
I'm planning to buy a house in a good neighbourhood in Toronto. The problem is that we don't know which neighbourhoods are safer-especially to live with family . I have four children and they'll have to go to universities and schools as well. Someone is suggesting houses in Englinton Avenue East, near Abu Bakar Masjisdin Lawrence Avenue east. Can you plz suggest if this is a safe neighbourhood to live with family. What would you suggest? Please give your opinion on safe neighbourhoods with low crime rates within Toronto. Also what about Markham and Mississauga? Are they nice?

Plz note that we don't have a car and don't plan to buy one before a year.

Plz advice!

good question!!!

Maybe you should check the post named "Qorax indexed". It can give you some insight into Toronto areas.

There are drugs related problems in many parts of the city.
there are occasional shootings but that has been reduced a lot in recent times.

Maybe Yellowknife is a good place to start a new life ;D ;D ;D

anybody has an idea about manitoba and winnipeg? living cost and housing?

Hello, just came across your post - I have lived in Toronto all of my life, and I'm a real estate agent as well, so I'm quite knowledgable about different neighbourhoods in Toronto. Toronto is generally considered a safe city, although there are pockets that have higher crime rates. There are literally hundreds of different neighbourhoods in Toronto, so I would have to know more about you, and what is important to your family to help narrow down your choices. One determining factor may be the price of real estate - the toronto housing market is booming, and real estate is expensive. Malton and Mississauga are less expensive, but then you have to factor in costs of commuting (if you will be working in Toronto) and the convenience of living in Toronto, especially since you won't have a car. If you have further questions, feel free to email me at kim@pageandpercival.com - I'm happy to offer advice if I can.
