I first came to Canada as a student, after 2 years of studying I received my Open Work Permit and now I am having interviews with an insurance company. I was told this is going to be a self-employed job (because it involves commissions) even though I'll work under their company and the title of the job is Financial Security Advisor (similar to Insurance Advisor).
My biggest concern is this kind of a job won't really be considered under the regular Express Entry program and I was hoping to start filing my immigration after working in a good titled job for a year (because I know my points were going to be adequate). With all these factors, I don't know if it's even a good opportunity now or not, I saw some threads about being self-employed and applying under Federal Skilled Trades program but I'm not sure which way is the best to go. The pay of this job is really decent so I don't want to just give up on it either. Please let me know if there is any information that you can provide.
