Seniors, I recently became PR under CEC category. My fiancee lives in India. We are getting married next year mid. I initially thought I can apply for spouse sponsorship after our wedding. But it looks like it would take close to one year after our wedding which will be too late considering we already waited long enough. Instead, I felt I can apply for her PR under Federal skilled worker category this year.

Below are more details. I am sorry that I am not too familiar with the FSW process as I started working on seeking the possibilities just today. I am running short of time as I must apply for her this year. I do know the process of CEC and family class though. Request your expert opinions.

Age: 25
Exp: 4 years as software engineer
IELTS: Registered for Nov 1.
Degree: B.E computer science
Adaptability: none.
Noc: 2173

I am looking to apply for her by November mid. Is it possible for her to get PR. What is the maximum date that we can send the applications for this year to CIC. Please help.

Thanks

The cap for NOC 2173 will be filled before November. Around 300 applications have already been accepted and these 300 only reflect applications received in May.

You should stick with your original plan and apply through family class.

Thanks for your response. This link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp says 273 applications have been filled for 2173 NOC code yet. Do you think the quota will be filled in two months.

I really appreciate your feedback with the process. But I felt it will be worth a try. I do not want to oversee anything in the haste of applying fast.

Just in case her application doesn't go through, will I be able to apply for her through spousal sponsorship next July?

That link actually says that 294 applications have been received for NOC 2173 (not 273). Again, this isn't as of today. It's as of the end of May. So if approximately 300 applications were received for NOC 2173 by the end of May - then it's logical to assume the cap for this NOC has now been reached. But by all means go ahead and submit your application in November if you really want to. You'll get it back 4-6 months later unprocessed due to the cap being filled.

Yes - you will be able to sponsor her through spousal sponsorship next year.

Thanks much for your response. Yes, it is 294. I thought the number is current as of 12-SEP in the below link. It is mentioned that the numbers in this link are updated every week. That actually motivated me to give a try.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

From the page:

Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office.

Also the page has been modified on Sep-15 justifying the updates. Please advise if I am wrong.
