Need help with FSW category

Hey everyone

I had applied under FSW category in January 2011 and received a letter on 16th March from CIO Sydney saying that the assessment was positive and they will forward my file to New Delhi office for further processing.

I just had a few questions regarding this
1. How long does it take for New Delhi office to send a request for getting medicals done
2. After receiving PR visas in how much time you have to land in canada to keep ur PR status
3. With regards to marriage, I am planning to marry my french fiancee in Jan. Should this be done before landing or after landing in Canada as I have not included her in my application?

1. I don't know.

2. Usually a year from the date of your medicals so depending on how long it takes after medicals, you have maybe between 6 and 10 months to land.

3. Either marry her soon and add her to your application or wait with the marriage until you have landed and then sponsor her. That is as long as you haven't lived together for 12 months or more in which case you would be considered to be common law partners and you would have to include her in your application.

If you get your PR visa as a single person and then marry and then land on the visa you got while you were single without notifying immigration to add your spouse first, you have become guilty of misrepresentation, can never sponsor your spouse and may even lose your own PR so don't do that.
