Need help with Fingerprinting anf Police certificate

Hi All,

It would be great if anyone could help with answers to following questions:

1) Can we send the fingerprints through LiveScan(inkless digital ) or do we have to send the hard copy fingerprints?

2) For the Police Clearance Certificate, do we have to submit the complete copy of the passport including the blank pages?

3) For the PCC it is mentioned that we have to send a self addressed Express Mail Envelope. What should be the exact amount of postage for this envelope? Will we be sent the copy of our passport back?

if you are applying for a police clearance certificate through indian embasy you need to send first 5 pages ,last two pages and all the visa pages xerox of your passport .

Here is my experience when I sent to Buffalo.

1) I ordered for finger printing cards from FBI. Once I received it I went to the local police station with the filled forms and told them I needed my finger printing for immigration purpose and they took the finger prints of all fingers charging $10(don't know the exact figure).I sent the cards back to FBI and they sent it back to me with the FBI clearance report.I do not know about digital fingerprints so wud not like to guide you the wrong way.Sorry abt that.

2)Regarding PCC I went to the Indian consulate and told them that I needed PCC for canadian immigration.They said I cud leave passports and come after 2 weeks.After 2 weeks they called me, gave passport and PCC.

I need to collect my POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE both for INDIA and USA. I am currently in USA.

1) Can I submit my xerox copy of passport instead of original ?
I heard from someone that we can submit xerox and when PCC is ready they call at consulate to show original passport in person.

2) I am also in a process to get my NJ state police clearance certificate and FBI clearance.
If i submit my original passport to indian embassy, will it affect my above process .
