Hi everyone,

I am seeking help with my Employee Reference Letter - namely the duties and responsibilities section.

I have nearly 3 years of experience as a nursing coordinator at a home health company. My official title as shown in my contracts was "Client Service Specialist". The company I worked for provides in-home nursing, rehabilitation, and PSW services all across Canada. I worked in an office setting in the Niagara area then moved to another office in Toronto.

My duties were to schedule appointments with patients, assign nurses to the new clients we get from Community Care Access Centre (government body) according to the nurses' specific skill sets (medical skills, logistics, language skills, personalities, etc.) run daily/weekly/monthly reports, create spreadsheets/templates for office efficiency purposes, among others. The job does not require a university degree, but prefers applicants with a college diploma, and secondary education is mandatory.

I see that my job is very closely aligned with NOC Code 1243 - Medical Administrative Assistants. I carried out almost all of the duties outlined for NOC 1243 on a daily basis. When I emailed CIC with my duties and responsibilities and asked them what NOC code my job belongs to, I received mixed responses. I sent 4 emails in total; 2 of them were returned to me with NOC Code 1411 - General Office Support Workers, and 2 of them were returned to me with NOC Code 1243 - Medical Administrative Assistants.

I don't want my application to be rejected due to CIC deeming my work non-skilled, as I hope to receive an invitation quite soon. With the new changes implemented on November 19th, I am currently sitting at 496.

Can anyone give me any advice as to how I can make my application stronger? How can I make the distinction between NOC codes 1411 and 1243 in my employee reference letter?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you as always
