Hello everyone, so I'll try to describe my dilemma as briefly as possible.
I landed with Copr for permanent residency processing on 8th August 2019 and didn't submit Bsf186 and bsf186a as I had no intention to settle in Canada at the time(work contract incomplete, mom diagnosed with cancer). I left without the pr card in hand but have received it thru post later. Currently it's in my possession.
I had to travel when I did as the medical was expiring.
No customs and immigration officer asked the form of me(I know I have to initiate it, not them).
I left Canada 36 days later and returned home on 13th September 2019. After which the covid 19 pandemic began and everyone's life became a mess.
Now I plan on traveling to Canada within a month or so with the intention of permanently settling and I'm in dilemma if I'm eligible to bring my things along with me without paying customs and duties.
So interestingly I spoke directly to an officer on the Border information services line and they've totally thrown me for a loop. She basically said I wouldn't be taxed if there was some stamp on the back of my copr, which there wasn't..
I'm totally at a loss now and seek this wonderful forums help.
Thank you & cheers
