Hi all,

as per my landed date Which is July/6/13, I am applicable to apply for my Citizenship. I have a few questions regarding the application.

> The physical presence calculator showing me eligibility period from 2013-09-28 to 2018-09-28.
Q) why is it showing last 5 years?

>As per the above eligibility period, do I have to select that I have Live OUTSIDE of Canada?
Q) If yes, then do I have complete form cit0177e, but both section A & B, doesn't apply on me

> in the application, it says if I have lived in any other country for more than 183 days in the last 4 years. I have lived in Chicago for studies.
Q) do I have to get the police clearance from them as per the instruction.

Eligibility period IS 5 years.

Yes, you have to if you have. If form cit0177e does not apply to you, simply fill out the form and write N/A in all of the fields. You may want to look up the form number here on the forum search, there are several posts on how to deal with it if it does not apply to you.

> in the application, it says if I have lived in any other country for more than 183 days in the last 4 years. I have lived in Chicago for studies.

Have you lived in Chicago (or anywhere else) for more than 183 days? If so, then yes, you need to send a police certificate.
I answered the queries above.

Please, refer to these links below for information. They are very comprehensive.

Hi,
my comments as below:

> The physical presence calculator showing me eligibility period from 2013-09-28 to 2018-09-28.
Q) why is it showing last 5 years?
A) The eligibility period is 5 years before your application date. Does not matter when you became PR. That is the rule. You must be in Canada for 3 years within lat 5 years.

>As per the above eligibility period, do I have to select that I have Live OUTSIDE of Canada?
Q) If yes, then do I have complete form cit0177e, but both section A & B, doesn't apply on me
A) If you were working for Canadian company, or were a crown servent and living outside of canada, you need to fill in this form. If you were out of canada for vacation, visting family, study etc, just fill the table in the main application form with appropriate comments.

> in the application, it says if I have lived in any other country for more than 183 days in the last 4 years. I have lived in Chicago for studies.
Q) do I have to get the police clearance from them as per the instruction.
A) Yes. You will need a PCC for the time you were in USA (Assuming you were in USA for more than 183 days.)
