My husband has been waiting from Manila for 15 months now for his PR to come. We are both living in Canada, and he is on a visitor visa. I got my local MP involved because Manila hadn't contacted me since December (when they did, they said I had to resend my husband's Australia police report, but after checking, it turns out they had made an error and it was the New Zealand one they needed. I resent the correct info they needed in December, but then never heard from them and then after getting the MP involved, I discovered they lost the files I sent and so I gave the files to my MP and they sent it to Manila and Ottawa for us). I was also told this was the LAST thing that needed to be processed before PR would be granted to my husband.

My husband has already gotten a second visitor visa in October and it runs out on April 24th.

I am pregnant and due to give birth on May 5th, 2014.

What am I going to do??? Can I reapply for another visitor visa for my husbad (a third)? We are so desperate, depressed and unable to do anything. Just waiting. My MP said that the processing of the New Zealand Police certificate (which requires sending a waver to Manila, who in turn sends files to Aussie, Aussie checks out the Police report for NZ and then resend it back to Manila) was the final thing left. I have no idea how long it will take as it was sent in January.

Manila won't answer any of my emails about my husband's application. I have written and told them that processing times for his visa have been exceeded but they are just ignoring me.

Your husband might want to extend his stay:

Hopefully you will be done soon. If not, one month before his visa expires, ask for an extension. There is no maximum number of times extension are allowed, and since the first one was granted, and you should be soon done with the PR process, there is no reason why they would not grant the second extension. Just include the proofs that you have the means to support yourself and your husband (as the first time), and ask for a 6 months extension. Hopefully by then your husband will have been granted PR.
For the PR itself, you've done the right thing - getting your MP involved - so there is nothing else to do than wait for Manila to issue the visa.
Good luck,
