NEED HELP - Study permit / changing university

Hi.

I applied to study permit with Lakehead University for September intake. There is no result on my application yet. Then I got admission to UBC for January 2021 intake. Now I am thinking of studying at UBC which will start in January 2021. Do I need to inform IRCC about changing university or I should wait for the result. I dont want to tell Lakehead University that I will not come, because I afraid it may affect my study permit application.

Question: If I defer my admission or cancel my admission at Lakehead University now, Is it gonna affect my study permit application while it is in progress?

I would wait for the outcome of your current application and then switch DLIs online once you have the option to do so. But yes, you need to inform IRCC eventually where you will be studying

On my study permit, my program start date will be Fall 2020. At UBC, my intended program start date is January 2021. I know I can change universities on my study permit. But, do you think I might have problems at Port of Entry?
I applied with Master of Science in Management and I will change it to Post-Baccalaurate Diploma in Accounting.
