Hi everyone,

I graduated from an Ontario university with a BA in Psychology, Honours and have almost 3 years of experience in Canada as a nursing coordinator for a home health company. I outlined my daily duties and responsibilities below:

Accepting or rejecting service offers sent by Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) according to patient needs, availability of skilled medical personnel, and geographical availability.
Scheduling appointments and assigning medical staff to patients admitted to the various home-health programs, and maintaining communication in order to ensure the delivery of proper care.
Determining the appropriate medical staff to be assigned to the patients based on their specific needs, in accordance with the medical staff’s qualifications and skill sets.
Maintaining a database of confidential medical records of patients, liaising with Community Care Access Centre and various medical institutions in order to ensure that the medical records are updated and the most recent records have been shared with the medical staff and the appropriate organizations.
Communicating with patients admitted to the Humber Clinic operated by Paramed Home Health in order to schedule medical appointments, provide administrative consultation, and facilitate their communication with medical personnel and supervisors.
Communicating with the billing department to ensure that the billing process runs smoothly, and in specific cases, in order to ensure that the billing rejections are resolved in a timely manner by completing the necessary adjustments in patients’ files such as medical visit codes and visit frequencies.
Running emergency preparedness reports in order to acquire access to the most recent versions of medical files saved in the company database. Furthermore, running various administrative reports such as unconfirmed visits by medical staff and number of hours worked within a given period by medical staff, and adjusting visit counts of medical staff accordingly.

I believe my position is very closely aligned with NOC Code 1243 - Medical Administrative Assistants. I emailed this address for clarification: NC-NOC-CNP-GD2@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca, and received a response that my job belongs to this category, however I want to make sure as I already received an ITA.

Can anyone please provide guidance?

Also, the company has many branches across Canada and I worked in an official office setting. The job requires secondary education, and a university/college diploma is preferred.

Thanks for your help!

If they have given their opinion on it, this forum is not beyond their authority to challenge it as far as NOC Codes are concerned. So go ahead with that NOC.
