Hi all,

I am from INDIA and I have my bachelors from mechanical engineering (2008 passout) and 7+ yrs of software job experience.

I have 70% in my Bachelors and scored 7 in IELTS General.

I considered Student visa for Canada as I have exhausted all other options to enter Canada with PR.

As per the info i read in blogs, Masters in Computer science need Bachelors Computer Science.

I need suggestions regarding the below queries -

- can I do MS in Computer science with Bachelors in Mechanical engineering along with 7+ yrs of exp in IT field (Hope Masters in Computer Science will add to my Profile over Mechanical)

- if not possible please suggest me courses which are simpler in mechanical related stream

- I cannot afford huge tuition fee. Can I complete MS in less than 20K CAD.

- how much funding I need to show in bank account before applying for Student visa.

- which provinces are better for living and getting jobs for students.

Thanks in advance for your patience,

Vijaya Kumar.

Does the 20K include tuition only? Or tuition and living expenses?

FYI - You need to sit for IELTS Academic as General is for PR process. I am guessing that you have been in EE pool for awhile and exhausted you are applying
for study visa. Rest there are other way learned members than me who can guide you better.

Good Luck.

Lets assume your course is for 1 year (2 sems)
then to get the student visa you will require following things:
you will have to make your GIC payment of 10250 CAD.
You will also need to pay your 1st sem fees. we can assume it to be around (8000-10000 CAD)

and after paying this money you will also require to show your 2nd sem fees + your return airfare exp in your bank account with some additional money to be on the safer side so that your VISA will be accepted.

so my suggestion would be to apply for a edu loan, or ask your relatives to deposit 15000 CAD in your bank account. so around 35000 CAD will do the job for you.

Again the tuition fee is just my estimated figure. It may also be less or more depends upon the Uni or Colleges.

All the best!!!!!!!!!
