Need Help!! Outland application!

Hello everyone! I feel a little embarrassed posting this, but I really have no idea how to start an Outland application for my husband and I to be able to go to Canada.
I am a Canadian citizen and he is Mexican and we are currently living in Mexico! I have been looking up things online but I just can't figure out where to start and a lawyer is way too expensive for us at this point in time.
So, I saw this forum and decided to try seeking some help here!
Any links for applications? Where do I start? What is first? I basically need step by step because I just don't get it...it's either I figure it out or we save up for a long time to afford a lawyer!

This forum is heaps of help! You will be applying 'Outland' so use this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp
Basically, read through, print out the Document Checklist, and start gathering the documents! There's a lot needed so work on that..... Once it's all together, you send it off, and start the wait....
