Hi!

We are in India. and we want to apply for visa to canada for 5 weeks for treatment of our son who is having Cerebral Palsy.
He is to undergo 5 week rehabilitation therapy/Conductive Education at Ability Camp in Ontario.

Please advice -

a) Is there any separate visa for this or Do we need to apply Tourist visa?
b) What form are required to be filled?
c) With current scenario of strike will I be able to get the visa in next 15-20 days under humanitarian consideration.
d) Do I need to buy air tickets and enclose the same with the forms.

I am a bit confused as to what all I need to do to get a visa.

Looking for quick responses.

Regards

1, No, regular TRV.

3. Posted processing time is 8 days, but with strike, may not get it.
4. No.

@atinsehgal :

You have to apply for normal TRV (tourist visa).

As you know the strike is going on,so you will be really lucky to get the visas within 3 to 4 weeks, because people are waiting for the visas even after 6 weeks of applying.

No you dont have to buy the flight tickets while applying but just have to get a booking from any travel agency to show your expected date of travel.

All the best guys and may your So get well soon !

Thanks everyone.

I have decided to apply visa for
a) October now seeing the strike situation.

I have few queries, before that I will explain the situation-

My son suffers from CP and hence we are taking him to Canada for 5 week treatment.Prior to that we have gone to Japan for 5 weeks in 2010 also.

Also we have recvd letter of invitation from the institute and they would be providing us with accommodation.Cost of treatment is CAD 8000.Other expenses would be food and travel cost as far as I understand.

We have a family business in my mother's name and I am a part of it i.e. I look after sales activity, my wife looks after system's in office.

As I have searched and with my limited understanding I fathom the following -
1. I have to fill TRV application form - 3 no's ( 1 each for 3 of us.My son is minor aged 7+)
2. Do we need to show or get a marriage certificate. My wife's passport mention's me as husband.
3. Is there any requirement of travel iternary - As per website - You must provide a copy of your flight ticket or booking, if available, and/or the itinerary of your visit (proposed route of your journey.)
4. Proof of means of financial support -
I have to include bank statements for the past four months
a bank draft in convertible currency --- Is this required
an employment letter - I can show this. But should I since I am a part of family business.
proof of assets or business - I own an office premise with my mother and getting a possession of flat in joint name with mother.
tax reports, declarations or statements

I have recvd funds from brother and brother in-law and father in law.Should I take a letter from them as well to that effect.
5. Business registration -In my case do i require to do this or not.
Since in our family business we are into trading of life science chemicals and diagnostic kits and I am competent person under DRUG law of Government of Delhi. Should I enclose this.
Or should I enclose our companies financial along with Import export code/Sales Tax which are issued from Government departments.
6. Travel history - we can show our visit to Japan in 2010
We have recvd Letter of invitation indication that our stay is free.

Can you guide me if I should include family business thing in my docs.
Also apart from treatment cost of 8000 CAD (accommodation being free)
How much CAD$ should I show for my stay for 5 weeks in Picton in Ontario.

Any other things which I should take care. Any thing which is missing.

Advice is welcome from seniors.
