Hi
Any idea how cic deals with multiple applications? I am not clear on this after reading about it on their website.
My husband applied under express entry and I am thinking of applying to sponsor him also.
I read that they put on hold one application until they make a decision on the other one but I am not sure if they talk about applications in the same category , EE for example but different class?
I don’t know what to do, his work permit expires early next year and I want to apply for OWP under sponsorship just in case his EE takes a long time or who knows... we have a baby on the way and this wait is really stressful
If I apply for sponsorship and open work permit and they put it on hold I didn’t really do any good.
Any advice please ??
Thanks

Why doesn't he apply for a BOWP? He only needs his AOR to do so and he can continue to work under implied status.

Yes that’s an option but ideal would be to get an open work permit so he can have the freedom to work where he wants. Being on a closed work permit can be frustrating. Plus, if they find a reason to reject his application the work permit would also be rejected.

Well to answer your question yes, you can have multiple applications as long as they are not in the same stream. There is no negative impact.

I do not know when he submitted his e-APR, what his application looks like nor whether it makes any sense to apply for sponsorship at this point as it can take up to a year. Up to you though.

Aor is august 24, Medicals passed, bgr was in progress then N/a. No update since early September, nothing.
If I know that they would start processing the sponsorship application in parallel with this one I would submit it. I saw other cases on here of ppl who applied for both but no further info.
If he gets refused, we will have to wait another 4 months for owp under sponsorship. I wish I can find some info on this. This whole thing is so frustrating. I will try to call maybe and see if I ca get an answer
