Hi All,

I hail from India, I have a score or 412 and with the June 6th CIC update I should be getting extra 15 points for a sibling in Canada.
My question is regarding Letter of Employment/ experience letter
My previous employers just gave a certificate stating I worked there as Financial analyst and was working from ** to ** and my conduct was good.
Will a letter with this little info be enough or do we have a certain format to follow. If there is a certain way it will be a pain to reach out to previous employers and get this done.

Also, I will be travelling to Canada in the next few days for 3 months, and since I will be expecting an ITA soon do I need to submit my passport as part of document submission? if yes then I will need to come back to India and submit it or can I also apply it in Canada?

Thanks in advance, for taking out time to answer!

The certificate you received from your previous employers won't suffice, and will be outright rejected.

Go through this thread for queries regarding reference letter - loads of valuable information :)

As for second query - passport is not required to be submitted, you need to upload color scan of all the pages of passport including the front and back page. Since all the documents have to be uploaded, you can do it from Canada itself. But, how are you going to get PCC done? You might have to come back to India and apply for PCC. Please check relevant thread on the forum for this info.

Thank you so much for your response!!
I got my PCC last month. I have almost all documents apart from the reference letter. I will have to come back to India as my Visitor visa expires by 13th November.
This also brings me to another question, what happens after ITA? Let assume all goes well with ITA while I am in Canada what do i do next? do I get my Passport stamped in Canadian Embassy? how will this work out then?

Once you submit (upload) all your documents for processing, CIC will take about 6 months to give you the PPR. By then you would've arrived back in India, so your stamping will be done in Canadian High Commission, New Delhi.

If it so happens that you are in some other country, then you can request CIC to allot you the local visa office of THAT country, and you can get stamping done there.

Also, check this thread for more info, and use this thread for all your queries related to 'POST ITA PHASE' :)
