Hi

Hope you all are safe and sound.

I'm a bit confused on how to fill up the work experience.

Below is my work experience in the last 10 years with the NOC (in real life)

1) Aug 2011 - Jul 2013 - Employer 1 - Title IT Assistant. (Duties matching to NOC - 2281) (reference letter obtainable.)
2)Aug 2013- Aug 2015 - Employer 2 - I was responsible for the running of a chain of 2 cafes. (Duties are matching with 0015 and 0631) What Title should i mention here? Though this is not my main job i was jobless at that period and studying for my masters. These cafes are owned by a family friend and requested my customer service and IT marketing skills. I have also worked in a cafe for about 18 months after school during and post high school (2005-2006)(reference letter is obtainable). (I enjoy doing this and have been told that i have a niche for customer service and handling)
2) Aug 2013- Aug 2015 -During the same period Self employed (Freelancing)- I consulted for multiple organization as an advisory to their IT requirements and strategy also took up freelance training opportunities for various corporates to train their employees on project management, ITIL and customer service (Duties matching to NOC 2171) (how would i get a reference letter for this?)
3) oct2015 - mar 2016 - Employer 3- I was hired by a company to oversee a transition project of an organization where they were changing the outsourced vendor .- I have an experience letter from the organization as Tech lead, but was hired as a Project Manager by the company. (reference letter is not obtainable)
4) Apr 2016- Current- Employer 5 - The title is IT Administrator. But the duties are matching with NOC 0213

Question,
What titles should i use for each
Should i mention all my experience (prior to 2010)
Also in the initial eligibility questions i mentioned 0213 as the NOC, should i delete the form and create a new one?

what would be the best approach
my crs is 454, age 31

Thanks God Bless.

Basic idea is to keep your profile / application, as simple as possible.

I always say that your papers, especially Letter of Explanation (LOE), should be able to guide the officer through your application, like you are explaining them in person.

You have got a diverse experience here and i will try my best to sort it for you.

There are two scoring system in Express Entry:
1) FSW :
- Applicant has to score 67 (minimum entry criteria) out of 100 to be eligible to create a EE Profile.
- For MEC in FSW, Applicant is awarded maximum points for 6 years of work experience.

2) CRS :
- Obviously you know about CRS points grid. Otherwise refer to CRS Calculator.

- For CRS, Applicant is awarded maximum points for 3 years of work experience.

- So one should only mention those 3 years of work experience, for which he/she would be able to arrange all the papers.

- Any other work history should be mentioned in "personal history" post ITA.
For work experience declared in personal history, CIC never asks for any papers, whatsoever.

Now for your queries:

1) Titles mentioned in NOC list are generic and are not limited to the list. For EE both Titles and Educational Requirements, does not have to match to ones mentioned in NOC.

2) NO, in EE profile, mention only the 3 years of experience. Rest should be mentioned in Personal History, along with LOE, explaining that as you are not claiming points for said work experience(s), therefore you have mentioned the same in personal history.

You only have to declare 10 years of work experience.
Also to be noted, that 3 years of work experience can be at any stage of 10 years of experience. (2010-2013 or 2015-2018 or 2017-2020)

3) Here you made my job easier.
As you have only mentioned 0213 (April 2016 till date) as your work experience, while creating EE profile and have also become eligible by scoring the MEC, then you should keep it that way only.
No need to delete the profile, you are on right track.

Mention the same NOC (0213) while completing your application and mention the remaining experiences in personal history alongwith LOE.

Also, don't forget to go through CIC requirements for Reference Letter and follow it word to word while getting the Reference Letter ready.
Its the single most important document in your application.
Also reference letter is the only document required by CIC alongwith pay slips (not mandatory), but you should not restrict yourself to the same. Provide as many documents related to your job as possible. Gives more credit to your application.

Thank you Canmah.

I also believe in keeping the info to whats asked for and simple, but didn't want to be misrepresenting any facts. I'll stick with NOC 0213 and my current job Title as IT Administrator.

Also i have selected 'no' for the research tab in the work history, do you advise the same?

The CIC requirements for Reference letter, the below link is what you were referring to?

"https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html"

Appreciate your guidance.

God Bless.

For RESEARCH Tab, selecting NO is ok. You can also select friends/family or how you actually did your research....hardly matters.

As for reference letter, following is the exact text I am referring to:

PLEASE FOLLOW IT WORD TO WORD AND PREPARE THE LETTER ACCORDINGLY, MAKING SURE NO DETAIL IS LEFT OUT.

YOUR Roles and Responsibilities in reference letter should firstly match the "lead statement" (completely) and then should substantialy (75% or above) match "main duties" of your NOC.

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

  • a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
    • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
    • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
  • if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).
If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips and notices of assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe [e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years]).

Hi,

I'm rechecking the forms i filled and thought i could use some advise.

I have my ECA done and WES has given me credits for Double degree.

However the form asks for Country of Study and City of Study.
I have done my studies part time as distant as it was cheaper and i could work while doing so.

For my Bachelors (BSc), i was in Country-1 until my second year and travelled to Country-2 for work. I came back for the final exams in the third year and returned back to Country-2.
For my Masters (MBA), i was in Country-2 and the universty had an exam centre in country-2 where i didnt have to travel to country-1(where the university is located) for exams.

1) What country of Study and City of Study should i mention. (For WES i only mentioned the unversity address)

Thanks
God Bless
