Hi

I was wondering if somebody knows how to apply for US visitor visa. I am on 3 year post grad work permit. Is it safe to apply for it now? Because I have heard it's better to apply for it when you are on student visa?

Any idea? Anyone? I also wanted to know how to apply for it.
Thanks

I really don't understand what you mean by "safe" here. You apply for visa when you need it and US has a good scrutiny procedure. Although it is true that being in Canada on a study / work or other kind of visa would appear positively towards getting US visa. But that's about it. You should have a good reason for doing so.

I have many friends who got visa to US when they were studying in Canada and went on visits.

Contrary to that i have had visit visa well before coming to Canada on a work permit.

So the intent is more important. Even if you apply latter from home country, having studied and returned from Canada should be considered a positive point.

Thanks for your reply. I meant "safe" by that they don't think that by studies are complete and now my intention is to settle in US (which is not true). I have full time job here and I just want to go their for visit only.

Can you also let me know how to apply for it?

You apply to the US embassy just like you would do in any other country.

Because Canadians don't need visas for visit, it doesn't mean they are not processed in Canada.

Here are some links

US visa application involves mandatory in person interview without exception.
